What time should students arrive for dance class?

Students may arrive a few minutes before their scheduled class time to get ready for class. Please wait in the hallway until the start of class to allow the teacher time to prepare. The teacher will open the door when it is time for dance class to begin.

When can parents observe class?

Parents are invited to watch classes on special visiting days a few times during the session. During these visiting days parents are encouraged to participate in dance activities. In addition, I sometimes open the doors a few minutes early for students to show dances they have created during the class. Parents are asked to wait in the waiting area on non-visiting days. I find that students focus better and perform their best when there are not visitors on a weekly basis.

What is the snow cancellation policy?

In the case of bad weather, dance classes generally will be canceled according to the local school system. In the event it begins snowing during the school day or if weather significantly improves during the day, please call 978-433-8349 for a recorded message. I will leave a message one hour prior to the start of class. A makeup class will be scheduled provided enough students are interested in attending. You may also come to another class to make up for a snow day cancellation.

What happens if my child is sick?

If your child is sick please, for the safety of everyone, let your child recover at home for the day and rejoin us when feeling better. Please let the teacher know of any serious illnesses that the other students may have been exposed to during class (chicken pox, conjunctivitis, lice...) If your child is sick and is unable to attend class, please call and leave a message on my answering machine. Classes may be made up by attending another class during the session. Please call in advance if you would like to make up a class.

During class time, we encourage your children to sneeze and cough into their elbows rather than their hands to help prevent the spread of germs.
